At what age is otoplasty most often performed?
Ear correction surgery can be performed at any age. It is more often done in the period between kindergarten and primary school.
How long is the postoperative period?
The rehabilitation period lasts 3-4 weeks, during these weeks tissue swelling decreases, wounds heal. An elastic bandage must be worn after the operation.
Is surgery always performed under local anesthesia?
In adults and older children, surgery can be performed under local anesthesia. For young children (kindergarten age) and patients who are afraid of surgery under local anesthesia, it is performed under general anesthesia.
